End of the evening jam session
Just before Dave joins them onstage, he took this picture...which is good because he also took the camera on stage with him. Not that I could have taken a good picture anyways....
Dave & Steve Miller
So this really terrible picture features Dave in the dark middle left side playing B3 organ, and Steve Miller (in the hat) and Curtis Salgado (red shirt) middle right.
Dave & Sebastian with Everclear
Our little rockstar is starting to get a little sleepy...it's about 9-ish now...Sebastian finally fell asleep around 10:30, sleeping through 3 more hours of rockin' blues before the concert finally ended at 1:30! And then there was the after party! (Only Dave made it to that part of the evening...)
Sebastian & Bebe enjoying the show
Dave is starting to play with local blues legend Curtis Salgado. On June 13th, there was a benefit concert for Curtis, who is suffering from liver failure, at the rose garden theater of the clouds...Everclear, Robert Cray, Taj Mahal, & Steve Miller, among others, performed. Dave played the first set with Curtis, the last set with Steve Miller, and then went up at the end with all of them for the jam session. What a great evening! Sebastian was absolutely mesmerized watching Dave during the first set--he didn't move a muscle! Here he is watching Everclear's first song with Bebe.
Pulling another Nat...
...and then again Monday night with his fork still in his hand at dinner time. Too cute.
Sebastian's first "Nat"
Auntie Nat used to always fall asleep in her high chair. Sebastian never had until this past weekend, when he fell asleep Sunday afternoon during his challah, peanut butter and jelly lunch...
Gina's Birthday Bouquet from Bebe & Grandpa
The roses are opening up beautifully, and the lillies make the whole house smell much nicer than baby diapers and dog!
Happy Birthday!
One German Chocolate cake, one gorgeous floral cake complete with birthday candle from Patti, I love birthdays!!
Toothless Birthday girl
You know it's great cake when you take your tooth out to eat it...Dave had gone with Sebastian and Eloise earlier in the day to pick up the cake. As a surprise, or so he tried. The minute they returned, I could hear Sebastian talking about eating cake, and Dave trying to quietly get him to be quiet. Then Sebastian comes running into the office shouting "Want some cake, Momma?" I was almost crying it was so darn CUTE! We waited until that night to eat it---Sebastian was almost crying about that---he's definitely my son!
Dave and Sebastian
Gina's Birthday lunch at Everett Street Bistro with Dave, Sebastian, Eloise, Jen and Ajay
Look there's the elephant!
Our cute little man points out the giant elephant. Other favorites were the penguins, orangutan, zebra and fish.
Peacock picture for Oma
Sebastian, Eloise and Gina went to the zoo while Dave had his first recording session at the new studio. This peacock was roaming around and stopped to pose for a picture we could show to Oma.
Framing the interior walls
The photographer is standing in the main room, Ashley is in the control room, and the little black ladder is in the small isolation room. Or, what will be all those rooms, once they have walls!
Ashley hard at work
The studio wouldn't be anything without all of Ashley and Tim Johnson's hard work (and Gandalf too!)
Studio progress
We've got walls! Dave has organized the interior space into an entryway, medium sized control room, small isolation room, and larger main room--4 possible isolation areas.
Nana and her little princess
Jacqueline and Paul are in town for Paul's brother Severin's high school graduation--the perfect excuse for waffles and strawberry freezer jam!
Sebastian at the April Hill playground
This darling little park is just a few block away, and every time we go, we have the whole place to ourselves. Here is Sebastian investigating the slide--it's a little wet so he's not so sure about it...
Outside of the studio
The windows have been replace by "doors". Although it looks like two sets of barn doors, only one half of one side is an actual door. The others are just fakes! Still need to paint them, but definitely looks much nicer than the plain plywood.
Thursday, June 01, 2006
Once again, sorry for all the photos out of order, and sorry it took so long to post them. I think I've got a pretty good excuse or two! Still need to get some pictures of the house on here, but I did include a couple of the music room Dave is renovating. More of those later as they keep on working! Eloise is almost 2 months old. She is a good little eater and getting nice and round. She is already figuring out that anytime Sebastian comes near her, she should scream bloody murder. Particularily enjoyable when we're driving and Sebastian figures out how to kick her in the head. Adventures of Sebastian and Eloise indeed! Stay tuned....
Sebastian is still not so sure about little E
Sometimes he ignores her, sometimes he is really interested in what she is doing, and other times, he's shoving his fingers or her pacifier in her mouth, or trying to pick her up---to be helpful, you know...
Daddy D's birthday hammock
We couldn't fit the hammock in the luggage to LA, so we took a picture to give to Dave on his birthday. Now if only we had a little sun so we could set it back up!
